ABOUT ANGI

Angi is passionate about empowering her community, valuing residents' input, and working tirelessly to create a more prosperous and united District 9.

With 25 years of experience in public relations, non-profit arts marketing and development, and small business ownership, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and a passion for service to her candidacy for San Antonio City Council.

Angi's journey is inspiring: she is a first-generation college graduate and a small business owner who has dedicated herself to her San Antonio community. Her partnership with the San Antonio Parks Department to provide free fitness classes to the community and her eight years of service on the Mayor’s Fitness Council, where she currently serves as Communications Co-Chair, are just a few examples of her commitment to promoting health and wellness throughout the city.

A staunch advocate for public education, Angi has held multiple leadership roles on the local PTA board, earning the Texas PTA Lifetime Membership Award and the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for three consecutive years. She also graduated from the year-long Leadership North East program for NEISD and currently serves on the District’s Efficiency Committee. Her dedication extends to affordable housing, where she serves as Vice President of the non-profit Community Housing Resource Partners.

PRIORITIES FOR District 9

  • Increase Police Patrols: Angi will advocate to increase police patrols and SAFFE officers in our neighborhoods, reducing property crime and crimes of opportunity.

Neighborhood Safety: Angi will advocate for additional equipment, personnel, and fire stations to decrease response times for emergencies. She will also prioritize widening sidewalks near schools and high-traffic areas, and partner with CPS to improve lighting in key locations like cluster mailboxes.

Road Safety: Angi is committed to addressing aggressive driving by working closely with SAPD to enhance enforcement and ensure safer streets.

  • Full-Time Representation: Angi will be ready to work on day one and will guarantee the residents of District 9 that she will be a full-time Councilwoman.

Community First: Angi is committed to maintaining a responsive council office you can count on, continuing the high standard of service District 9 deserves. Decisions at City Hall should be informed by the community.

Open Office Hours: Angi will host regular open office hours to meet with residents, hear concerns, and ensure every voice is heard.

  • Maximize Tax Dollars: As a small-business owner, Angi is dedicated to supporting small businesses, recognizing that thriving local businesses benefit the entire community. She will use her expertise to maximize our budget, get rid of wasteful spending, and keep a cap on taxes.

Promote Economic Development: A strong local economy starts with supporting small businesses, attracting high-paying jobs, and ensuring responsible growth. Angi will work to cut red tape, provide relief for businesses impacted by road construction, and create opportunities for entrepreneurs. We need to attract new businesses to San Antonio, while also working to grow our local businesses.

Responsible Growth: Angi will ensure our infrastructure is reliable and well-maintained, and new development aligns with our community’s values and needs, enhancing quality of life and maintaining property values.

Parks & Natural Areas: Angi will protect existing green spaces, advocate for more family-friendly park features, and prioritize preserving the district’s natural beauty.

  • Community Center: District 9 needs a dedicated community center—an accessible, affordable space where neighborhood associations, small businesses, and community groups can gather, collaborate, and grow. A place to host meetings, workshops, and events, strengthening our connections and fostering a sense of belonging. When we create opportunities to bring people together, we build a stronger, more engaged community. It’s time to put District 9 tax dollars to work right here, investing in a space that truly serves and unites our residents.
